About Us
Who is the school for?
We'll be opening our small, nurturing school for child-led project-based learning, in 2026 for up to 24 children between the ages of 6 and 14 years. We're passionate about bringing joy back to learning, to support building confidence, creativity, curiosity and ease of connection to humans and nature. We will be open to full-time, flexi-school and part-time (home educated) learners.

We will register as an independent school with Ofsted; in our pre-launch phase we operate as a part-time learning community, aligned with current legislation.
Our Environment
With one adult to every 6 children and inspired by the Reggio Emilia pedagogy, acknowledging all the many ways children learn and communicate, we are able to adopt a holistic, and trauma-informed approach to learning.
We'll provide plenty of integrated opportunities for movement and embodied learning, where children are free to move each day. As well as opportunities for children to be self-directed, should any group projects not ignite the fire of their curiosity.
Where are we?
We're nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty in Buckinghamshire / Hertfordshire countryside, close to Tring.

Why the name?
At our core is a belief (based on plentiful evidence) that children are natural learners. We need only cultivate a suitable environment in which they are happy and content, for curiosity, learning and growth to be unavoidable, natural consequences.

We provide a nurturing, nature-rich environment, rich in opportunities to spend time learning collaboratively, autonomously and through play, where human connections are supported to be harmonious and people can flourish.

How learning works?
Learning takes place through a mixture of immersive projects (solo and collaborative), self-directed exploration and play. Coaches accompany learners, observing without judgment and creatively weaving literacy, maths, science, engineering and the arts into projects. Asking questions to stretch learning opportunities, encourage reflection and uncover new possible sources of inspiration, and not to test whether a child knows 'the right answer'.

We seek to create the best possible environment for learning to take place, based on evidence-based research (such as those discussed in Daniel H Pink's best-selling book; Drive), namely a safe, playful, natural, bright, non-competitive, purposeful and non-judgmental setting, where each learner takes ownership of their own progress in a meaningful way, from an early age.
